Our members deserve nothing less than the peace of mind that comes from knowing their property is out of harm’s way no matter the water or weather conditions. One major advantage of docking your boat at Safe Harbor Walden is the extra measure of safety provided by the breakwater that surrounds the whole of the marina. This added safeguard also has the added benefit of preventing shore erosion and preserving the natural environment for all to enjoy.
Great Fishing Guides and Spots
It’s no secret why some of the best moments in life tend to take place behind a fishing pole with a handful of good friends–everything really is better on the water. Fishing on Lake Conroe is no exception, and there are dozens of seasoned guides for hire to make sure you and your crew have a fun and successful trip (and the perfect photo for some well-earned bragging rights back home). Catfish, crappie, and largemouthed bass are ripe for the taking here, so grab your tacklebox, book your guide, and head straight for the water.
Sam Houston National Forrest
Located 50 miles north of Houston, Sam Houston National Forest is one of four national forests in Texas and spans over 160,000 acres. A hotspot for camping and recreation, the 128-mile Lone Star Hiking Trail winds through the Sam Houston National Forest and features a section of trail that has gained National Recreation Trail status. Other activities allowed in the park include biking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, swimming, boating, and OHV riding.
North Lake Conroe Paddling Company
North Lake Conroe Paddling Company (NLCPC) is an experienced team of professionals ready to outfit you with everything you need for your next adventure the water. Taking pains to avoid the high seasonal boat traffic on the southern tier of the lake, NLCPC is conveniently located on the water in Lake Conroe’s northern tier, and is a sure bet for a fun (and safe) day for all the paddlers in your crew. Rental options include fishing kayaks, touring kayaks, youth sized kayaks, and more.
Walden Yacht Club
Where can you go on Lake Conroe for a candlelight dinner, dancing, and live music with open access to the public? Only one place: Walden Yacht Club. Known by some as the “best kept secret on Lake Conroe,” this lively spot offers a refreshing rendition of traditional “club” atmosphere. Children are welcome, take-out is available, and the service is friendly. There is a dining dress code, so be sure to bring along a little something special for the occasion. Reservations are recommended.
Breakwater Grille
If you’re looking for any combination of delicious food with a casual no-frills atmosphere and beautiful lake views, make a beeline for the Breakwater Grille. This down-to-earth spot is serving up delicious renditions of classic favorites including burgers, wings, street tacos, southwestern eggrolls, onion rings, and more. At the bar you’ll find an excellent selection of drafts on tap, premium beers, and signature cocktails. While you’re sipping, catch the game on one of Breakwater’s 12 televisions positioned throughout the restaurant and never miss a beat.
