Being a new customer, I have had only limited contact with the people who make this Marina run. The Physical facilities are great but it is always the people who make the difference. The Staff at this marina have gone out of their way to make boating a pleasure again. Thank you !

Sandy Island

This 9,000 acres of prehistoric sand dune is located between the Pee Dee and Waccamaw Rivers and houses a refuge and nature center for visitors. It is classified as the largest undeveloped freshwater island on the east coast. Founded by an enslaved man who was later freed, the current residents of the island are his descendants, and due to their isolation from the mainland, the Gullah way of life has endured for centuries on Sandy island. Visitors can wander the 2-mile trail that winds through the preserve to catch a glimpse of the unique plants and wildlife, purchase folk art from the locals, and appreciate the untouched beauty of the natural surroundings.

Thoroughfare Creek

With an entrance north of the city center of Georgetown, SC, the creek breaks off of the Waccamaw River, but continues to wind through Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge until meeting up with the Great Pee Dee River to the west. Beautiful anchorages are plentiful here, with stop-offs for walking trails through the refuge along the way. This spot is popular for jet skiing, water sports, and weekend gathering.

North Inlet

This 18,000+ acres of ocean-dominated estuary is composed of extensive tidal salt marshes and wetlands. Located in Georgetown, SC, this undeveloped area is overseen by the National Estuarine Research Reserve System, which is dedicated to the conservation, research, education, and stewardship of America’s estuaries. The Hobcaw Barony Discovery Center exhibits the latest research on this coastal ecosystem and includes a saltwater aquarium. Visitors can access special programming to explore the wetlands by bike and kayak with a seasoned guide.

Historic Georgetown Lighthouse

Located near the entrance to Winyah Bay on North Island, the Georgetown Lighthouse stands 85-foot high and was constructed in 1812 after a hurricane destroyed the original structure, which dates back to the 1790s. Although the interior of the building is not accessible to the public, the historic white-washed brick lighthouse is impressive to view either in person or from the water.

Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk

Situated in the historic fishing village of Murrells Inlet, the Marshwalk is a half-mile wooden boardwalk overlooking the estuary and is home to a lively hub for food, shopping, and entertainment. Pirates and marauders of long ago used the area to stash their treasures, and while their booty is long-gone, their legends and ghost stories remain a part of the village’s colorful culture and history. A great spot for spending an afternoon or evening with your crew.
