Duck Island Rhodes
This state-owned island spans 5.6 acres and supports the largest egret rookery in eastern Connecticut. The intertidal zone is home to large populations of fish, mollusks, and invertebrates and vital to supporting the bird and wildlife population. Those who enjoy wildlife watching, birding, and recreational fishing will love spending the day or afternoon at this gorgeous natural oasis.
Chamard Winery
Located in the quaint shoreline town of Clinton, Connecticut, Chamard Winery is a 40-acre property that features 20 acres of vines that are carefully tended by hand. The winery produces 10,000 cases a year of superior vintages including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. The onsite bistro serves lunch and dinner and makes for the perfect accompaniment to a wine tasting. A wonderful place to wander, explore, and taste some of the best wine in the state.
