We stopped here waiting for a good weather window to cross over to Bimini. There are several nice marinas along Lake Worth, but after checking around, we decided Old Port Cove was the best choice!
After calling in on channel 16, we got clear directions to our slip where we were greeted by a very helpful dockhand. He safely got us into our slip. They have modern floating docks, so he could adjust our cleats for a better tie up. Power and cable was supplied by a pedestal in front of our slip, but the water was on a separate pedestal beside us on the finger dock. In slip pump-out is also available. The marina has tall condos on three sides that blocked us from the strong winds that kept us there a week.
We then got a warm welcome from Suzy at check in, who also gave us a nice bottle of wine and a ticket for a free bag of ice. The staff is very professional and works hard to insure all your needs are met.
It’s located in a high-end gated community that makes for safe strolls along the quite scenic waterfront walk. On site, the showers, coin operated laundry, Captain Lounge and fitness center were clean and up to date. Also on site is a the Sandpipers Cove Restaurant and Bar that has a happy hour 3-7. There is also a small cafe that sells pizzas, snacks, beer, wine and souvenirs.
We enjoyed the use of their free shuttle to make several trips to the nearby stores. You will find anything you need within a couple miles of the front gates. Yes, even a West Marine just down and across the street.
We are already making plans to stop at Old Port Cove on our trip back from the Bahamas.
