Schultzy’s Snack Shack
This seasonal snack shop has all the classic beach snacks you need for an enjoyable day by the water. Load up on favorites like burgers, hot dogs, tenders, fries, sandwiches, ice cream and other sweet treats and enjoy them at the onsite picnic tables or back under your beach umbrella. You’ll find this local gem a short walk from the shore on Park Avenue.
Tiverton Farmer’s Market
This treasured community hub for shopping fresh local produce, meats, seafood, bakery items, prepared foods, and more is hosted weekly at Tiverton Middle School. Visitors here will also enjoy perusing the wares of local artists and artisans, listening to live music, and encountering local nonprofits that do great work around the community. The perfect Sunday morning outing to take with your crew.
Fort Barton
This gorgeous 83-acre natural area features a rugged 3.5 mile trail that winds through mature hardwood forest, ferns, and wildflowers and over rustic bridges that traverse a pristine brook. This historic area contains many earthen fortifications that date back to the Battle of Rhode Island in 1778. An observation tower offers sweeping panoramic views of the Narragansett Bay. A fascinating place to explore, Fort Barton makes for a challenging yet rewarding adventure and is also suitable for leashed dogs.
Groundswell
This trio of charming vendors offers a little bit of everything to experience and explore. In the meticulously preserved Arnold Smith House (c.1750) visitors can peruse a curated selection of garden products and home decor perfect for outfitting your table and entertaining your guests. Across the street is the lovely Groundswell Cafe and Bakery which serves homemade baked goods, artisan coffee, and a seasonally-inspired menu of sandwiches, salads, and breakfast items.
