What People Are Saying

I had several engine, painting fiberglass jobs done on my 43' catamaran. Everyone I worked with was good with both communication and technical work. Brad was an instructive, hard worker on the engine with a great attitude. Chris and Dave managed projects effectively and ahead of schedule. I overwintered in the water with a bubbler. The facilities and docks were solid, clean and well maintained. Kenny runs a tight ship on the docks and was a huge help to my transition in and out and being sure the boat was in good hands.

Haines State Park

This gorgeous state park is located in the town of Barrington on the northeastern side of Narragansett Bay. Visitors to the park enjoy a range of activities, including picnicking, boating, fishing, and competing on the various onsite playing fields. Also a stop along the East Bay Bike Path, the park is only a short walk from the marina and provides the perfect diversion for both leisure and exercise.

East Bay Bike Path

This 13+ mile paved trail near the marina winds through coves and marshes, over bridges, past historical waterfront and along the tranquil shoreline to provide a front-row seat to the area’s coastal wildlife. Starting in Providence, the path winds over the Seekonk River and continues to Bristol along the shoreline of Narragansett Bay, the East Bay Bike Path remains one of Rhode Island’s most popular biking destinations.

Crescent Park Carousel

This stunning, hand-carved carousel dates back to 1895 and is considered a National Historic Landmark. It was built by one of the earliest and most notable carousel designers, Charles I.D. Looff, and features such elaborate woodwork that it is considered a masterpiece of wood sculpture. A fun and fascinating emblem of American history to visit and admire during the main season.

Boating Destinations

Island hopping on the Narragansett Bay is one of the best ways to experience the stunning natural beauty of the area and to explore a wealth of historical landmarks dating back to the pre-colonial era. Prudence Island, a former summer grounds of the Narragansett people, was purchased from them by Roger Williams and Governor John Winthrop in 1637 and bisected by Division Wall, which still stands today. The 5 ½ square mile island is one of Rhode Island’s best kept secrets and is perfect for a quiet getaway to hike, bike, and wander the 13 miles of walking trails that wind through the unspoiled terrain. 85% of the island is protected conservation land, meaning there are no restaurants or shops here, so be sure to pack a lunch or make plans to dine elsewhere. Nearby Patience Island, as well as Potter’s Cove, Dutch Island, and Conanicuit Island each have their own fascinating histories and features and are well-worth exploring–just be sure to check current conditions and restrictions before heading out.
