Sitting on a quiet stretch of the Ashley River neighboring Charleston's historic district, Safe Harbor Bristol bestows boaters with easy access to open water and the rich culture of one of the top cities in the country. Take your boat out for a day of wakeboarding, then come home to a meal in the heart of Charleston. Cap your evening with one of the regular fireworks displays at the Riverdogs baseball game.

Very nice place. Was kept up nicely! Loved seeing the dolphins that were swimming around in the inlet feeding.

I've rented a jet dock there for 6 years. Never have I been disappointed in that Marina. Since Safe Harbor has taken it over, it has gotten even better. The shower and wash room at the marina office building have been nice and clean. The dock workers often offer a ride when I or my wife are carrying things to the dock. Always friendly and trying to keep things orderly.

Excellent Bristol Marina weekend! Russel and Stewart exceeded our expectations on service. We called the day of for a small boat slip. They were professional and extremely helpful. Offered a ride down the dock in golf cart with our two small children and asked if we needed ice. Not only is this the nicest marina on the peninsula the staff went above and beyond. Thanks guys for a great weekend.

Capers Island

This undeveloped barrier island along the South Carolina Coast dramatically lined with petrified palm trees has an other-worldly feel and is excellent for exploring. The unusual beachside forest is home to plenty of interesting wildlife, including white-tailed deer, loggerhead turtles, osprey, and more. A favorite of photographers and birdwatchers, this fascinating spot is separated from the mainland by the salad marshes and Intracoastal Waterway, making it only accessible by boat. Charters are also available from Sullivan Island.

Folly Beach

No trip to Charleston is complete without a day at the legendary Folly Beach. In this gorgeous stretch of wide, sandy, coastline, you’ll find the perfect setting for anything from kayaking and fishing to eco-tours where nature lovers can learn about the endangered species native to the area. The sunsets here are everything to write home about—so gather the family and bring a camera to capture the special moment you can look back on fondly for years to come.

Freshwater & Saltwater Fishing

Grab your tackle box, cooler, and a friend–the waters around Charleston are home to a beautiful variety of freshwater and saltwater fish ripe for the catch. Species include spadefish, red drum, black sea bass, king mackerel, cobia, marlin, and even sharks! Whether you prefer to fish from the beach or plan to charter a boat for a full day on the water, there’s no shortage of opportunities for landing a fresh catch during your stay in the Holy City.
