This California Employee Privacy Notice (“Employee Privacy Notice”) tells you about the categories of personal information that may be collected (or may have been collected in the past 12 months) by Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC and its affiliates and subsidiary entities (collectively, “SHM”) and why we collected that information. This Employee Privacy Notice is for California residents who are (1) SHM job applicants, (2) current SHM employees or independent contractors, (3) former SHM employees or independent contractors, or (4) dependents or beneficiaries of current or former SHM employees.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND USE

 
Your privacy is important to us. We only collect personal information that you provide to us or that we are authorized to obtain by you or by law, and we only use your personal information for the purposes described in this notice.

When you apply for employment: we may collect: your name; email; phone number; Social Security number; driver’s license; date of birth; physical address; criminal history; military service information; education information; employment history information; race; gender; veteran status; disability status; and name and contact information of references from you and from information available as a result of a background check.

During your employment, in addition to the information collected through your job application as described above, we may collect additional employment related personal information, including:

In the Course of Your Employment: We may collect your name; address; phone number; email; gender; age; salary; race / ethnicity; information for employment related taxes; Social Security number; citizenship information; veteran status; disabilities; driver’s license number; license plate number; I-9 information; emergency contact information; marital status; any information you provide when you submit a request under the FMLA or another leave, disability, or benefits law; and any other information you have chosen to provide to SHM;

To protect our employees and others from COVID-19: We may collect your name and signature and require you to self-check for symptoms of COVID-19 and acknowledge that you are not exhibiting symptoms before coming to work. We may also take your temperature and ask you to confirm you are not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, and any symptoms being exhibited will be documented and retained in a confidential manner;

To provide benefits and payroll: We may collect your name, address, birth date, gender, sex, age, marital status, Social Security number, email address, marital status, phone number, disability, other insurance coverage, dependent information, beneficiary information, employment status and income information, Medicare coverage information including benefit number, insurance information such as group policy number or ID, and bank account number, routing number, and account type;

Vendors, suppliers, and others doing business with us may collect or receive employment related information as described above on our behalf to provide employment, benefits, or technical services to SHM.

HOW WE MAY USE YOUR INFORMATION

 

When we collect and use your information, we take your privacy and security very seriously.

We collect employee personal information as described above for the following purposes, when permissible under applicable law:

MAINE DRUG AND ALCOHOL-FREE WORKPLACE POLICY

 
NOTICE TO EMPLOYEES AND APPLICANTS

Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC has established a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy (the “Policy”). The Policy was adopted pursuant to the Maine Substance Abuse Testing Law (26 M.R.S.A. Sec. 681 – 690). This Policy provides for drug testing of all applicants as a condition of hire and drug and alcohol testing of all employees under specified circumstances.

A copy of this Policy is available for inspection during regular business hours in the personnel office.
