Shem Creek
Known as one of Mt. Pleasant’s most popular dining and drinking districts, the Shem Creek Boardwalk spans over 2,000 feet, running from Coleman Boulevard to the mouth of the creek. With views on all sides of the marsh and Charleston Harbor, the boardwalk makes for an excellent outing for a scenic stroll after lunch or dinner. Boaters can tie up on one of the many floating docks, and there is parking available if you plan to come by car. The Charleston Water Taxi is a good option to take if you’re already downtown.
Folly Beach
No trip to Charleston is complete without a day at the legendary Folly Beach. In this gorgeous stretch of wide, sandy, coastline, you’ll find the perfect setting for anything from kayaking and fishing to eco-tours where nature lovers can learn about the endangered species native to the area.
